About us

Hi I'm Eliza Belle Wood, I started Shop Deja vu because I wanted a Revolve-style shopping experience but for preloved clothing.

My passion for sustainability started when I was 10- I learnt there will be more plastic than fish in the ocean by 2030- a fact that felt too soon and too scary, so I started a sustainability program at my surf club. From this I was provided so many opportunities, running beach cleans, getting grants and travelling to the Christmas Islands to do a beach clean!

Like most girls, I was obsessed with fashion, originally wanting to be a fashion designer but after learning that Australia is the largest global consumer of textiles per person. In Australia alone we have enough clothing to last the next 10 generations, yet 8 tonnes of clothing is dumped into landfill every 8 minutes. This is not ok. But it can change. If everyone makes at least 1 conscious choice a year, it adds up to a big difference!

An idea that stemmed from reading Alice Birrell's article in Vogue Australia in 2025- I was in year 12 and determined to make a mark. So during my first year at uni, I was accepted into the UWA Venture Up program where I have received amazing mentorships and backing for this idea to turn into a reality!

Why Shop Deja vu?

Resale shouldn’t be a chore, preloved clothing should have the same chance as brand new so we created this platform, dedicated to reduce the burden of selling online whilst maintaining a consistent theme and beautiful shopping experience for customers. Every second hand designer garment is modelled, priced and listed for you, just wait for the payout at the end of the month!
