DÉJÀ VU
Seller Policy & Terms of Consignment
By sending items to Déjà vu for consignment, you ('the Seller') agree to the terms outlined in this document. Please read carefully before submitting your items.
1. What We Accept
Déjà vu is a curated preloved fashion marketplace. To maintain the quality and presentation our buyers expect, we only accept items that meet the following standards:
– Clothing, shoes, and accessories in excellent, gently-used, or new-with-tags condition
– Items free from stains, rips, missing buttons, broken zips, or visible wear
– Clean items with care labels intact
– Items that are on-trend, well-made, or from recognised quality and designer brands
We do not accept the following categories, regardless of condition:
– Work uniforms (including branded corporate or hospitality uniforms)
– Costumes and fancy dress items
– Most fast-fashion brands (e.g. items not expected to hold resale value or buyer interest)
– Underwear, swimwear without tags, and items with hygiene concerns
– Items with strong odours (smoke, pets, mildew)
2. The Consignment Process
1. Purchase a Déjà vu Bag (sent to you, or available for collection).
2. Fill your bag with clothing, shoes and accessories you'd like to consign.
3. Send your filled bag back to Déjà vu using the provided satchel/instructions.
4. Our team inspects every item against our quality standards.
5. Accepted items are professionally photographed, priced, and listed for sale.
6. Items not meeting our standards are donated to charity or responsibly recycled (see Section 3).
7. You receive payment for sold items at the end of each month (see Section 5).
3. Quality Assessment & Unaccepted Items
By sending items to Déjà vu, you acknowledge and agree that:
– Déjà vu has sole discretion to determine whether an item meets our quality standards
– Items that do not meet our standards will not be listed for sale
– The Seller expressly authorises Déjà vu to donate rejected items to a registered charity partner or responsibly recycle them, at Déjà vu's discretion. Déjà vu will notify the Seller by email of any rejected items
– Within 7 days of that notification, the Seller may instead request return of rejected items by post (at the Seller's own shipping cost) or arrange free pickup in person. If no request is received within 7 days, the Seller's authority to donate or recycle applies
– No payment or compensation is owed for items that do not meet our quality standards
4. How We Price Your Items
Déjà vu sets the sale price for every accepted item using:
– Current market research and resale value benchmarks
– Brand recognition and original retail value
– Item condition, age, and demand trends
– Comparable sold listings across the resale market
By consigning with Déjà vu, the Seller agrees that Déjà vu has final discretion over pricing for all listed items. We aim to achieve the best possible price for every piece, balancing speed of sale with maximising seller return.

– Payouts are made via direct bank transfer or PayID to the account details provided by the Seller
– Each payout is accompanied by an itemised statement listing sold items, sale prices, and the Seller's share
– Déjà vu is not liable for delayed payouts caused by incorrect Seller banking details
7. End of Consignment Period
If an item remains unsold at the end of the 30-day consignment period, the Seller has the following options:
– Renew the listing for a further consignment period for a $10 renewal fee (per renewal, applied to remaining unsold items)
– Allow Déjà vu to donate the item to a registered charity partner at no further cost
– Request return of the item at the Seller's own expense for shipping, or arrange free pickup in person from Déjà vu
Déjà vu will notify the Seller in writing (by email to the Seller's registered address) when the consignment period ends. If no instruction is received from the Seller within 30 days of that notice, the Seller expressly authorises the item to be donated to a charity partner.
8. Title, Risk & Australian Law
The following terms apply to all consignments:
– Ownership (title) of accepted items remains with the Seller until the item is sold. Déjà vu holds items as bailee and sells them as the Seller's agent; on sale, title passes directly to the buyer
– Déjà vu will take reasonable care of all items while they are in its possession
– This document is the Seller's express written agreement and authority for Déjà vu to deal with rejected, unsold, and uncollected items as set out in Sections 3 and 7, including donation to a registered charity partner or responsible recycling. Written notice given by email to the Seller's registered email address is effective notice for the purposes of this agreement and the Disposal of Uncollected Goods Act 1970 (WA)
– Items are held for a maximum of 60 days from the date of listing (a 30-day consignment period plus a 30-day instruction window), unless renewed or otherwise agreed in writing
– Nothing in this document excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy conferred by the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2, Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded
– This agreement is governed by the laws of Western Australia, and the parties submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of Western Australia. If any part of this agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remainder continues in full force
9. Seller Acknowledgement
By purchasing a Déjà vu Bag and sending items for consignment, the Seller confirms they have read, understood, and agree to all terms outlined in this document, including:
– Déjà vu's sole discretion over item acceptance, pricing, and listing
– That unaccepted and unclaimed items may be donated or recycled as set out in Sections 3 and 7, unless return (at the Seller's shipping cost) or free pickup is arranged within the stated timeframes
– The fee structure: upfront bag fee, commission per sale, Seller payout, 30-day consignment period, and $10 renewal fee
– Monthly payout terms as outlined in Section 6
